Coded Standards with Historical Performance Data
Audience:
New York State Schools and Districts
Format:
Word, PDF, Excel
Recognizing the need to approach the standards in an organized manner, LCI has assigned a code to each performance indicator provided by New York State. This coding system provides an organized and cohesive approach that maintains the original language and structure provided by New York State and allows for consistent and clear standards references in classroom and district documents. The LCI Coded standards organize standards by key word (for example, “main idea”) from Kindergarten to Grade 12. This allows schools to track the appearance of a particular standard in their curriculum, to see where it is introduced or when mastery is expected. Additionally, LCI coded Standards include indication of what performance indicators have historically been assessed, providing additional information for curriculum mapping and organization. School item analysis data can be included in coded standards as well.

Using the school’s guiding questions as a starting point, and designing around the fundamentals of effective data displays, LCI can provide leaders with clear and powerful data displays for communicating with parents, faculties, or Boards of Education.
